Reactions: The Good

  • Before settling into the Giannis/Jabari highlights that will dominate this section let’s breeze over what the Bucks did well. First of all they shot a rather high percentage–52.1% off 38-73 shooting. They also committed six less turnovers than the Cavaliers, 17-11. And Khris Middleton recorded the Bucks only positive (+/-) from the starters with a +5. His settling into form will assuredly help the Bucks get back on track. That about does it for positives, let’s get to the good stuff.

Jabari Parker must have some sort of personal vendetta against Kevin Love and the Cavaliers. It feels like every time he plays them something like this happens. Note how Giannis slips out of transition defense to generously give Jabari Parker a congratulatory slap on the hip. Also, what was Kevin Love doing? He was clearly beat, but looked to back into a high flying Parker mid-flight. I thought that was the sort of thing the NBA outlawed. Apparently not.

  • Giannis had an exceptional performance in front of a national audience on TNT. I would expect a slew of endorsement deals and perhaps an expository documentary on his rise to stardom. That would be MUST watch T.V. Until then we will settle for his on-court performances. Here’s a few of the many highlights from his career high 33 point, 12-15 FG game.
