Reactions: The Good

  • Although it was far from a classic Giannis Antetokounmpo performance, the Greek Freak continued to show us flashes of why he’s the franchise’s next great hope. First of all let’s look at what he can bring on offense. Giannis clearly put in the work to diversify the way in which he attacks over the summer, and it’s spin moves like this that show it paid off.
  • Giannis also was tasked with stopping Kawhi Leonard for significant periods of time, and he did about as good of a job as anybody has done this season. The block on this play was the highlight, but the whole possession was textbook defense.
  • Khris Middleton is on a tear. For his last five games he’s averaging 55.2 percent from deep with over three long range makes a game. 16.2 points and 4.8 assists are nothing to sniff at either. Keep it up, Khash.
