20. Herb Kohl Won’t Sell To Michael Jordan

Back in 2003, after conquering the world as a basketball player, and then as a businessman through his brand, Michael Jordan decided he wanted another run at the NBA. No, he wasn’t coming out of retirement again, instead he had decided he was ready to become an owner.

Top of his list of potential teams to purchase were the Milwaukee Bucks. With then owner Herb Kohl open about his willingness to sell the team, it only seemed like it would be a matter of Jordan naming a price and the team would be his.

There were always question marks about Jordan’s true intentions for the team (particularly where they may or may not eventually have been located), and in spite of Kohl being pleased with the money offered, he decided against selling the team to the all-time Bulls great. What the future would have held will remain an unknown, but all is well that ends well, right?
