Like the old Ben Kenobi who Luke Skywalker first meets in A New Hope, Jason Kidd is a legendary warrior who is now adjusting to life at a different pace. As the force seemed intent on dragging Kenobi back in, the draw of basketball was too strong for Kidd to turn his back on upon retirement.
Now, a mentor as he tries to shape a gifted new generation, Kidd has his work cut out for him. The wars are not his to fight any more, yet he’s required to stay cool and calm through the inevitable frustrations of teaching his young troops in his ways.
