Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Jerryd Bayless, C

9 Points | 4-9 FG | 0-2 FT | 1 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Bayless didn’t get to play in the full game due to a rolled ankle, but he actually looked pretty good in his time out there. He got five assists in just 26 minutes, and his field goal percentage was pretty good too. Less contested three-pointers would be nice, but beggars can’t be choosers I suppose.

O.J. Mayo, C

13 Points| 5-13 FG | 3-3 FT | 5 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

Juice does everything right, except remembering to occasionally not shoot the basketball. 13 points on 13 shots is pretty far from efficient. If Mayo would just relax a bit on the threes, his line would’ve been really good–without his four missed shots from deep, he shot 56 percent. With them, he shot 38 percent.

Khris Middleton, A

21 Points | 6-15 FG | 6-6 FT | 5 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Usually I don’t give out As in games where the Bucks look this weak, but Middleton’s play forced me to make an exception. He did pretty much everything right against the Pistons: got to the free-throw line, scored 20 points, and had a fair amount of rebounds and assists.

 Giannis Antetokounmpo, B+

12 Points | 5-11 FG | 2-2 FT | 9 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

There were times where it seemed as though Giannis was just about to step up and take over this game, but sadly that didn’t end up happening. Antetokounmpo needs to be more assertive going forward–it seems obvious that he can do a lot more than what he’s been doing in these past few games.

Greg Monroe, B

14 Points| 7-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 13 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 2 BLK |

Moose showed up, clocked in, got a double-double, and that was that. It seems so effortless for Monroe sometimes–even against Drummond, it seems impossible for Monroe to not drop at least 12 points every game. He’s a beast, plain and simple.
