Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters
Michael Carter-Williams, C-
8 Points | 4-8 FG | 0-0 FT | 5 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
What are you, MCW? The eight points on 50 percent shooting with five rebounds part is cool and all, but no assists, steals or blocks? It’s not a good sign when Milwaukee’s starting point guard has zero assists, and the team has just 14 total assists. When the ball sticks, bad things happen.
Khris Middleton, C
15 Points| 6-13 FG | 3-3 FT | 6 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
So everybody’s rebounding these days, but maybe some assists or points would go nicely with that? Middleton looked a bit off for most of the night, especially in an especially ugly sequence at the end of the game where he a) flopped hard after missing a three-point attempt and then b) got himself ejected for arguing about it. Zach Zarba or not, Middleton didn’t get touched on that three. The Bucks need a lot more out of one of their leaders than that lack of composure late in games.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, C+
11 Points | 4-10 FG | 3-4 FT | 9 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |
Oh, good, more rebounds. Giannis was sloppy from the field and inconsistent as usual in his game, which is just something to expect these days from most Bucks. Still though, at least he nearly got a double-double. That’s something, right?
Jabari Parker, F
6 Points | 2-7 FG | 2-2 FT | 4 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
It’s okay that Jabari Parker is not good at defense yet. He’s essentially a rookie, and has a lot to learn. What’s not okay is Parker whining about a missed call and not getting back on defense at all. I hate seeing any player take himself away from the action to cry about a call, but it’s worse when Jabari does it after all the composure he’s shown before this season.
Greg Monroe, C-
8 Points| 3-10 FG | 2-2 FT | 11 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 2 BLK |
Got absolutely sonned by Zaza Pachulia, and allowed the Zaza revenge game to happen. Enough said. He’s normally great, but was not against the Mavericks.
