Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams, A-

19 Points | 8-14 FG | 2-6 FT | 9 REB | 9 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

My on again, off again love-hate relationship with MCW was in full remission after his last two games. Unfortunately (for my emotions) he was excellent against the Thunder. He hit jumpers, attacked the rim, found teammates, and rebounded–all things you demand from a PG. The only thing he didn’t do was hit free throws, for which he gets a reduced grade.

Khris Middleton, A+

36 Points| 8-14 FG | 4-4 FT | 0 REB | 7 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

He didn’t get a single rebound, which is weird, but he sure did everything else for the Bucks. His twelve point third quarter buoyed a career-high 36 points, in which he looked every bit the talented scorer that we saw glimpses of towards the end of last season. He hit threes (6-9), was steady from mid-range (4-8), and made excellent cuts to the rim. You really can’t ask for much more from the former second round pick.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, B+

27 Points | 11-19 FG | 5-7 FT | 10 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

The league’s second most prolific fouler was again disqualified due to fouls. That needs to stop. I’m sure he’s addressing that issue. Beyond that Giannis was pretty excellent. He didn’t dazzle of with shooting proficiency, but with slashing and finishing. All eleven of his made shots were at the rim. Vintage Antetokounmpo. And a double-double to show for his efforts. Nice.

Jabari Parker, F

5 Points | 2-11 FG | 1-2 FT | 4 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with Jabari Parker? He’s shot 6-30 over the last three games and looks somewhere between disoriented and disinterested defensively. Either way, with the hopes and dreams of a million Bucks fans hitched to his shoulders, he needs to play better.

Greg Monroe, D-

4 Points| 2-9 FG | 0-0 FT | 10 REB | 1 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

It’s rare for the usually mild-mannered Monroe to loose his cool. But Steven Adams elicited that very response from the Bucks big man. Once Monroe lost his cool he was completely ineffective–missing bunnies and slamming jumpers off the backboard. Gross.
