Reactions: The Good

  • The Bucks have some fight in them. I’m not talking about Mayo’s moment of madness specifically, but the way in which his teammates overcame the collective adversities they were facing to come out with a comeback win at the end of a long road trip. It’s not too long since effort was a glaring concer, so that in itself is refreshing.
  • The second unit continued their run of string performances, and it’s likely no coincidence that much of that has coincided with Joe Prunty’s decision to give Giannis and Monroe greater run time with that group. Smart staggering of rotations is creating mismatches in Milwaukee’s favor.
  • The hesitancy hasn’t gone away, but Giannis made a triple. That’s always going to be cause for celebration.
  • Although not everybody was firing, we saw a continuation of many of the key trends that have allowed the Bucks to compete throughout this road trip. Middleton’s three-point shooting stayed hot, MCW continued to rebound and assist at exceptional levels, and Giannis is providing a big presence on the glass.
