Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams

, B-

5 Points | 1-7 FG | 3-4 FT | 7 REB | 6 AST | 2 STL | 3 BLK |

On the surface this appeared to be one of those nightmare Michael Carter-Williams nights that forces you to put your head in your hands. His shots were forced, but the difference with his recent play is a greater overall control. He only turned the ball over once and contributed in plenty of other departments so don’t underestimate his impact.

Khris Middleton

13 Points| 4-11 FG | 2-3 FT | 4 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Almost feels like a big disappointment from Middleton as we’ve grown so accustomed to high scoring in his last five or six games, but he continued a lot of the recent positives. Shot 3-5 from behind the three-point line as he remained hot from distance. Middleton also continued to set up his teammates, five assists is not a bad tally.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

, B

11 Points | 3-9 FG | 4-4 FT | 9 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

Not his best game, but he has to get marks for toughness. Giannis was clearly shaken up by the heavy fall that result in him chipping a tooth, but he has to be commended for quickly putting it aside and taking to the floor to compete as normal in a close game. The hesitation to shoot remains a problem, but at least we saw him pull the trigger on a couple of three-pointers and even make one on this occasion.

Jabari Parker

12 Points | 4-7 FG | 4-4 FT | 6 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Parker wasn’t particularly forceful or assertive which is a common complaint about the way in which he’s playing this season, but nobody could deny he was a handful. He got Wiggins in early foul trouble, and his physicality was certainly a challenge for the Timberwolves throughout the contest.

Greg Monroe, A

19 Points| 7-13 FG | 5-5 FT | 10 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

It says a lot about Greg Monroe’s ability and play style that he doesn’t necessarily have to look like he’s doing too much to take over a game. Monroe can just go about his business, and then you look up and he has 19 and 10. When the Bucks started to turn the screw it was inside where they really had some joy, and Monroe was pivotal in that regard.
