Player of the Week Rankings
1. ???
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo
3. Michael Carter-Williams

I’m going to try something new here. Vines then words.

Giannis schools Dirk!

Giannis schools Durant!

Giannis schools Solomon Hill (AKA not as exciting as Dirk or Durant but still cool).

Block Party!

Giannis hits a three!

Giannis Antetokounmpo returns to the Player of the Week rankings after a multi-week absence. With highlights like the ones you saw above you can see why.

Giannis played in all four games this week and averaged 34.0 minutes, 15.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.8 turnovers, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks. He was second on the team in scoring, tied for first in rebounds, second in steals, and third in blocks.

Giannis scored and rebounded well in all four games this week while at the same time having his best two defensive performances in the Bucks two victories. Additionally, he lead his team in free throw attempts, 6.3 per game, and shot 72 percent from the line to help the Bucks.

In the first game of the week against the Mavs, Giannis had 11 points, nine rebounds, one steal, and one block. He just missed out on the double-double and contributed somewhat on the defensive end. It was good to see him battle on the glass because his effort helped Milwaukee out-rebound Dallas by 18.

In the second game against the Thunder, Antetokounmpo had a incredible offensive performance. Giannis got his only double-double of the week with 27 points (on 11 of 19 shooting) and 10 rebounds. Giannis actually outscored Kevin Durant in this one which is pretty cool.

In the third game of the week against the Pacers, Giannis put up 14 points, six rebounds, three steals, and four blocks. It was a beastly defensive performance by the Greek Freak. His defensive effort helped the Bucks win the turnover battle by three. That isn’t something they have been able to do often on the road.

In the fourth game against the Wolves, Antetokounmpo had 11 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals. It was the second time he just missed out on a double-double by one rebound. Giannis lead the Bucks starters in +/- in this one with +19 and was just behind rookie Rashad Vaughn‘s team leading +20.

The Bucks put the ball in Giannis’ hands a lot this week, second highest usage rate at 22.7, and he delivered more often than not. He did not shoot as well from the field as he sometimes does but he got to the free throw line a bunch and made good decisions.

Giannis still had his problems this week. He once again got into foul trouble too often and had the second most turnovers on the team. Compared to his fellow Bucks though he made enough significant plays to earn his spot on the Player of the Week Rankings.
