Player of the Week Rankings
1. Khris Middleton
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo
3. Michael Carter-Williams

Back to back Player of the Week honors for Khris Middleton. That is no small feat. Like last season Middleton started very slow but picked it up and played really good basketball the remainder of the season. This season seems to be trending in a similar direction for Khash.

This week he played in all four games and averaged 36.3 minutes, 24.3 points (shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 56.5 percent from three), 3.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3.3 turnovers, and 0.8 steals per game.

He was first on the team in scoring, second in assists, and fifth in steals this week. Middleton took the most three pointers on the team and had the highest three point shooting percentage at the same time. That is an incredible accomplishment.

To start the week against Dallas, Middleton put up an okay stat line of 15 points, six rebounds and an assist. It was by far his worst game of the week. He went 0-3 from three. Additionally, Khris had five turnovers, five fouls, and was ejected from the game with six seconds left after two technical fouls.

Middleton shook off the poor performance in Dallas by coming into Oklahoma City with guns blazing. Khris scored a career high 36 points (6-9 from three). Along with that he chipped in seven assists and a steal. It was one of best games of his young NBA career but it wasn’t enough to get the Bucks the victory.

He followed that incendiary effort with another monster offensive performance. Against Indiana, Middleton scored 33 points (12-18 from the field, 4-6 from three) and had five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. His second best game of the week came when the Bucks were desperate for a road win. Middleton was the catalyst that sparked the team to get the win.

After his best two game stretch as a pro Middleton played a supporting role in the win over Minnesota. He had 13 points, four rebounds, and five assists. It was not a big game for Khris but he helped his teammates be successful with the second most assists in the game for the Bucks.

Middleton seems to be switching between point guard and shooting guard often as of late. He lead the team in assists last week and was second in assists this week. Common NBA fans do not think of Middleton as anything beyond a 3 and D player but he is showing us all that he is much more. This play where he leads the fast break and dishes a nice pass to Jabari Parker is prime example of that.

Middleton’s play the last two weeks has been sensational. He has had five 20 point games in his last seven and has been shooting fantastically from three. He is slowly trying to earn the title of Bucks MVP this season. By the April he might just do that if he keeps having weeks like this. For now, he is just the Player of the Week once again. That is nothing to scoff at.
