Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams

, B+

16 Points | 6-10 FG | 3-6 FT | 4 REB | 6 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |

MCW played to his full jack of all trades potential against the Spurs. It helps that Tony Parker watched the game back in San Antonio, triggering a match-up between MCW and Patty Mills. But that shouldn’t diminish MCW’s performance. He made smart passes, was active on the glass, and even hit a three pointer. He didn’t commit a turnover, either. Good stuff.

Khris Middleton

, B-

19 Points| 6-13 FG | 7-7 FT | 3 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Middleton’s three point bubble burst, flat-lining (0-4) from deep. Other than that he was effective with his shot selection and especially impressive on a certain step back baseline jumper that was a shade away from being a three. That’s the sort of future that Middleton has. He can become a true knockdown shooter–from anywhere on the floor.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

, B-

11 Points | 5-9 FG | 1-2 FT | 4 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |

Sort of a middle of the road performance from the Buck’s affable twenty-year-old. He pulled the trigger on jumpers, which is certainly a good thing. Fans have been waiting to see that on a consistent basis. Now the trick is hitting them. He was 0-2 from three.

Jabari Parker

, C

14 Points | 5-14 FG | 4-4 FT | 8 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

He did a decent job on Leonard, showing both effort and the necessary athleticism to keep up with the Spur’s swing-man. There was a hand in Leonard’s face every time he took a shot. That’s progress. Offensively he was inefficient, but who’s really going to complain about Parker taking fourteen shots? Not this guy. And neither should you.

Greg Monroe, B

15 Points| 5-9 FG | 5-8 FT | 8 REB | 2 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK |

He really struggled against Tim Duncan. That’s not really a damning performance as players have been struggling against Tim Duncan for nineteen years. He was able to remain active in the paint in the first half, but when it became clear in the second half the Bucks were totaled, Prunty took him out for good.
