Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams

, D

4 Points | 1-8 FG | 2-4 FT | 5 REB | 6 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

Despite going through an ice-cold shooting night, and playing just 22 minutes, MCW was able to put up decent rebounding and assisting numbers. He won’t shoot 1-6 at the rim on most nights. Heck, on most nights he doesn’t have to navigate through Porzingis and Lopez. They certainly had something to do with his inefficiency.

Khris Middleton

20 Points| 6-16 FG | 7-10 FT | 1 REB | 1 AST |1 STL | 0 BLK |

After the Bucks traded Brandon Knight last season the impetus of scoring fell squarely on Middleton’s shoulders. He reluctantly met that challenge and took up the mantle as the Bucks go-to guy. Nearly a year later it looks like he’s fully realized that he’s the Bucks best wing option. He wasn’t great in iso against the Knicks–but was good enough to give you full confidence in his ability.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, C

9 Points | 3-9 FG | 2-4 FT | 10 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

I get it–he’s not scoring well right now. Whatever. He’ll come around. I don’t mind him taking four three pointers, either. But I would suggest–if I may–that if he air-balls his first attempt from three to stop taking threes that night. For what it’s worth his other three attempts were close.

Jabari Parker

14 Points | 7-12 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK |

I would like to say that he’s improving defensively, but I’m not really sure if that’s factual or just a response to his heightened effort on the defensive end these last six or seven games. They say that defense is all about effort. And right now it’s clear that he’s at least putting effort into his defense.

Greg Monroe

28 Points| 11-16 FG | 6-7 FT | 10 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |

He dominated the leaner Robin Lopez to the tune of 28 points in just 33 minutes. Damn. He posted yet another double-double, too. It’s imperative that the Bucks show major improvement next season or I fear he will take his Robin Lopez dominating, double-double machining self to a team that’s closer to contending.
