Reactions: The Good

  • Thanks to a laundry list of turnovers the Bucks found themselves down nineteen points midway through the second quarter. We’ve seen, many times this season in similar situations (like in N.Y. Sunday), the Bucks simply shrug their shoulders and head to the locker room. Losers of another winnable road game. Tonight the Bucks fought. After reducing the deficit to thirteen at halftime, they took control in the third quarter, beginning the frame with a 10-3 run and claiming a 74-71 lead by the end of the period. Fight. It’s a great thing to see. A sign of development if you ask me.
  • Giannis trounced the Wizards with a thirteen point third quarter. He shot 4-5 from the field in the period, 5-5 from the FT line, and added five rebounds. If only there was a way to bottle up that level of aggression–the sort that emerges when he feels he’s the Buck’s best chance on offense–then he would truly begin to realize his potential.
  • The Bucks took full advantage of Marcin Gortat‘s absence Wednesday night, outscoring the Wizards 62-38 in the paint. 31 of the Bucks 38 made field goals were in the lane, which was much the result of the Buck’s overwhelming rebound advantage, 47-30. It’s a rare night indeed that the Bucks dominate their opponent off the glass.
  • MCW had a terrible game. He scored just four points in 26 minutes and sat for the majority of the fourth quarter. Despite the ineffective play, he still found the time to drop this finesse dime to Middleton.
  • The Buck’s victory over the Bulls Tuesday night reminded me of the first preseason game. Why should that meaningless game matter? Because Khris Middleton threw down a ferocious one-handed slam over Jimmy Butler. It looked like this. Watch it and you should find it pretty memorable, too. He had a similar dunk over John Wall. It looked like this.
  • This made me smile.
