Reactions: The Good

  • After strong flashes of play against both Chicago and Washington, Giannis Antetokounmpo was dominant against Atlanta. For a player who looked like he had little to no confidence a week ago, this was a flash back to the player who the Bucks saw race out of the blocks to the start of the season. Milwaukee are a different proposition when Antetokounmpo is feeling it.
  • Milwaukee moved to 2-0 on the season in overtime periods, and the way in which they grabbed the initiative with both hands in this one was certainly encouraging. From Michael Carter-Williams knocking down a big three, to Giannis adding one of his own, and John Henson crushing a Kyle Korver shot with a rejection, the Bucks were clinical in stepping up to the plate and the Bradley Center loved it.
  • In a game where Milwaukee weren’t necessarily at their best with Greg Monroe on the court, John Henson obliged by coming in with a big time performance. 10 points, seven rebounds and six blocks in 30 minutes will generally help to get it done.
  • Watching Michael Carter-Williams is quite the rollercoaster, but what’s most important is that his confidence appears to have grown more robust as the season has gone on. After his mistakes could have cost the team in the fourth quarter, he was resilient and assertive in coming back with an important steal and three-pointer in OT.
  • 60 rebounds deserves a mention, but also worth noting is that if there’s a team as bad as the Bucks at rebounding, it’s the Hawks.
