Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams

, B

15 Points | 5-15 FG | 3-3 FT | 9 REB | 7 AST | 3 STL | 2 BLK |

It’s easy to look at a Michael Carter-Williams game and say 33 percent from the field and six turnovers…ouch. That would be forgetting that MCW doesn’t like to make anything easy though. He’s got into a habit of putting himself in range of a triple-double, and if he can pull out big plays like he did against Teague at the end of regulation and then a couple more in overtime, he’s going to continue to deserve credit.

Khris Middleton

, A-

26 Points| 11-23 FG | 4-5 FT | 4 REB | 3 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK |

Didn’t make a three-pointer yet he’s reached a point where he’s good enough that that doesn’t prove to be the end of the world. He was almost automatic from mid-range, no matter how strong the contest was. Kyle Korver doesn’t get enough recognition for his defense, but it was always going to present Middleton with a matchup advantage, and Khris seized it with both hands.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, A+

28 Points | 10-18 FG | 7-9 FT | 16 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 3 BLK |

Bucks fans had been asking for it for quite a while. In overtime with the momentum swinging in Milwaukee’s direction, the ball ricocheted out to Giannis Antetokounmpo standing in the corner. He had time, he had space. So many times throughout the season, he had seized up and then passed in that situation, but on this occasion he showed no hesitation stepping up to knock it down in rhythm. The icing on the cake of what was an all-round fantastic performance.

Jabari Parker

, B-

10 Points | 5-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 10 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |

Not his best performance in a lot of departments, but it did offer a continuation of a recent change to his approach that he hasn’t been getting anywhere near enough credit for. Where early in the season Parker was very tentative on the glass, the Chicago native is now rebounding with energy and purpose. His 10 boards in this game act as testament to that.

Greg Monroe

, C+

15 Points| 4-16 FG | 7-12 FT | 12 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

His numbers look quite good in the aftermath of the game, but make no mistake, this was a struggle for Moose. Monroe was often unable to finish inside as smaller men like Paul Millsap and Al Horford combined with their defensive intelligence to shut him down. Did well in getting to the line, but the Bucks looked much better with Henson in the middle on this occasion. Finished with a plus/minus of -8.
