Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Michael Carter-Williams

, C-

7 Points | 3-5 FG | 1-2 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

He kept the turnovers to a minimum (1), but kept everything else to a minimum too–like scoring, rebounding, and assisting. Aside from an egregious defensive lapse that led to a dynamic dunk, he was solid. Not good. Not bad.

Khris Middleton

, A-

22 Points| 8-20 FG | 4-4 FT | 7 REB | 7 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

It was a weird night for Middleton. He started 2-2 (both threes) and then went 0-7 on his next seven shots. He finally turned it on again late in the second quarter as the Bucks expanded their lead. Even when he was missing he was getting good looks. Had the game been closer he seriously threatens to get a triple double.

14 Points | 5-10 FG | 4-4 FT | 6 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

He missed a couple of those easy pop-up-zone bunnies that he’s become so good at creating for himself. But instead of letting a few easy misses get to him he stayed aggressive and punished the Heat later in the game. He had five turnovers, one of which was hilariously well out of the reach of Jabari Parker on a fast break.

Jabari Parker

, B

9 Points | 4-7 FG | 1-2 FT | 2 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

His scoring reached a ten-game low, but so did his field goal attempts. He was invisible on defense (a good thing) and didn’t make costly mistakes offensively. He made all of his attempts outside the lane–that’s a trend we hope he continues for a long, long time. The ability to hit that mid-range shot could take him to the next level.

Greg Monroe

, B+

15 Points| 6-13 FG | 3-3 FT | 10 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Wasn’t surprised to see Monroe push around Whiteside. He has a pretty wide size advantage over the skinny Whiteside. I was surprised to see the box score after the game and notice that Monroe has just a (+/-) of +1. Fewest among the starters (who were all in double-digits).
