Bucks Player of the Week Rankings
1. Greg Monroe
2. Khris Middleton
3. Jabari Parker

The Moose was on the loose again this week. This makes back to back weeks for Monroe on top of the rankings. To earn his spot as king of the mountain all he did this week was average a double-double and have an incredibly low turnover rate.

Monroe played in all three games this week and averaged 30.0 minutes, 19.3 points (55.8% shooting), 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 1.7 turnovers per game. He led the team in rebounding and blocks while at the same time he was second in scoring. He also tied for the lead in free throw attempts per game, 4.0, while making over 80 percent of them.

In the first game of the week against the Heat, Moose had 15 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, and a block. This was a pretty standard game for Monroe. He shot a lesser percentage from the field than he sometimes does, but beyond that he was effective. Greg led the team in rebounds and the Bucks won the rebounding battle, which was one reason they were so dominant in the contest.

Next up, against the Rockets, Monroe had one of his best defensive performances of the season. He put up 21 points (10-17 from the field), nine rebounds, three assists, and four blocks. Monroe rarely gets multiple blocks in a game, so for him to get four is a nice achievement. He disrupted Houston’s shots like we would expect John Henson to do. Unfortunately, his defensive effort did not put the Bucks in the victory lane for this one.

Finally, against the Pelicans, Greg had 22 points (8-13 from the field and 6-6 from the free throw line), 11 rebounds, two assists, and a block. It was an extremely efficient offensive performance for Moose as he gave Milwaukee what he could.

The Bucks are a bottom five rebounding team, yet this week they out rebounded their opponent in all three games. Greg led the Bucks in rebounding in all three games and his effort night in and night out for the Bucks on the glass needs to be noted. Moose was a dominant rebounder this week the way Milwaukee needed him to be.

This was the second week in a row where Monroe was highly efficient. For players who played 15 minutes a game or more, his usage rate (27.3) was the second highest and his turnover ratio (8.4) was the lowest on the team. Add that efficiency to an excellent rebounding effort and you have the Bucks Player of the Week.
