Reactions: The Good

  • Before the game got out of control Greg Monroe was on a complete tear. He scored 17 of his 21 points in the first half (shooting 6-9 in the process), and was able to get virtually any shot he wanted against Marc Gasol–one of the league’s best defensive players. Unfortunately Monroe was not able to go off for a monster game, thanks to the blowout score.
  • Khris Middleton didn’t make the All-Star team. Bummer. But he did continue his under-the-radar demolition of his competition. Like Monroe, Middleton was limited by the team getting handled by the Grizzlies. Middleton’s 12 point first quarter was a great effort, leaving the team with a four point advantage before taking a seat to start the second quarter. By the time he returned, with 4:54 left in the period the Bucks were down four.
  • Here’s Middleton flashing his complete game by getting a steal and leading the fast break for a (relatively) easy basket.
  • And finding a slashing Jabari Parker thanks to dribble penetration initiated by his own proactive offense.
  • The Bucks shot 24-27 from the free throw line. That’s good for 88.9%. Nice work on that front.
