Reactions: The Bad

  • The Bucks shot 1-16 from three while allowing 10-28 to the Grizzlies. Middleton made the Bucks lone three-pointer. If there’s one glaring area of deficiency–on either side of the ball–it’s three point shooting. You will never win an NBA game shooting 6.3% from the three point line. On the other side of the ball, you make it really hard to win when you give up nine three pointers in a single half, like the Bucks allowed the Grizzlies Thursday night.
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo got ejected for yelling at a referee. This reaction was likely the boiling over of an earlier blatant blocking foul on Marc Gasol that was called as a charge. Gasol had the proper position, sure. But he turned his body as Giannis took off–shielding himself from the incoming Grecian. Giannis was understandably irate after the blown call. Especially since it curbed a potential scoring play while the Bucks were trying to chip away at the Memphis lead. One thing is for sure–that’s the most visibly upset I’ve seen Giannis in a long, long time.
  • Giannis and Jabari combined for 14 points on 4-15 shooting. We’ve enjoyed relatively consistent play from the duo lately so it comes as a bit of a shock for both of them to play so badly the same night. At least they were both active on the glass, grabbing seven and eight rebounds apiece. Despite that effort, the Bucks offense needs more from their own the future pair in order to have a shot at winning. Shake it off, and continue.
