Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Bench

Jerryd Bayless, C
9 Points | 2-4 FG | 5-5 FT | 3 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK |
His standout play wasn’t a clutch three-pointer, an alley-oop dunk, or any sort of important defensive play. It was a flagrant foul, committed on the offensive end. He hooked Mario Chalmers with his left arm while going past him on the right baseline. The hook reached up into Chalmers’ “grille” area, and so the flagrant was called. Forget “black hole”; he’s “bull dog Bayless”.

Not ideal. Not by a wide margin. The rookie missed all five of his three-point attempts, but hey–at least he’s hoisting them up there. How does that saying go? You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take?Well, Vaughn nearly missed 100% of the shots he did take.

Johnny O’Bryant

0 Points | 0-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Sort of a quiet came for JOB. In twenty minutes of action he managed to catch up to two offensive rebounds while generally staying out of the way. He’s a silent sleeper. You won’t hear a peep.

Miles Plumlee, B+
6 Points | 3-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 5 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 2 BLK |
Plumlee was the only bench player to record a positive +/- while playing non-garbage minutes. He was active on the glass, leaping over around and through Memphis defenders in pursuit of loose balls. It was a great effort. Like Henson, Plumlee has a good grasp of the pick and roll–catching a lob from Middleton for the easy throw down.
