Reactions: The Bad

  • 0.45. That was the Milwaukee Bucks assist to turnover ratio last night. Nine assists in a game is the lowest total the Bucks have posted all season–Milwaukee hadn’t dished less than ten dimes in a game all year. In fact, you’d have to go all the way back to 2010 to find the last game in which the Bucks had less than 10 team assists. The team wasn’t just bad, they were historically bad.
  • Milwaukee’s power forwards struggled against Utah’s strong frontcourt. Jabari Parker and Johnny O’Bryant III combined to make just two of their eleven shot attempts for a grand total of four points. They don’t call Rudy Gobert “The Stifle Tower” for nothing.
  • Khris Middleton is being forced to carry the Bucks to a dangerous degree. Middleton played 40 minutes and took a team-high 16 shots. No other Buck played more than 33 minutes. Letting Khash go from time to time is fine, but he’s doing this every night and has yet to sit out a single game this season. That’s asking too much from Money Middleton.
  • Greg Monroe failed to record a double-double against Utah and the wall that is Gobert. With trade rumors swirling and a matchup against the Celtics some three days away, there’s a chance this was Moose’s last game with the Bucks. Hopefully if Monroe is dealt, he gets to go out with a better game than this one.
