Brooklyn Nets

There’s no team in the league more obviously in need of a point guard than the Brooklyn Nets. They needed one heading into the season, and now they need one even more with the season ending injury to Jarrett Jack.

Jack’s torn ACL dooms the Brooklyn Nets to be one of the league’s worst teams this year, yet unlike many others around them, the front office has no incentive to tank with their pick set to convey to the Boston Celtics.

In fact, as has been well publicized, Brooklyn’s cupboard is pretty bare when it comes to draft picks. That of course makes their chances of pulling off trades all the slighter, yet ironically it also makes their need to pick up talent by any avenue afforded to them all the greater.

Carter-Williams is certainly not the star point guard that the Nets may be considering to throw piles of money at this summer in the form of Mike Conley or Rajon Rondo, but he’s now an increasingly experienced NBA starting point guard who still manages to have flashes of really strong play.

On a rookie deal a move for Carter-Williams wouldn’t have to cripple any of their future plans either. What do Brooklyn have that Milwaukee might want? The Bucks might be persuaded to sacrifice MCW for some more shooting, if the Nets were inclined to part with Bojan Bogdanovic.

That would give the Bucks the chance to look at point guard options through the draft or free agency this summer, although a challenge in this deal working out will be Brooklyn’s current lack of a GM or permanent head coach. Who do you even call?
