Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Bench

Michael Carter-Williams, C-

5 Points | 1-5 FG | 3-4 FT | 5 REB | 3 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

His initial reaction to being benched was sensational, but MCW failed to follow that up with anything too convincing. He has generally played well over the last two months or so, but overall he’s doing little to convince the Bucks that their most important playmaking options don’t fall between positions two to four.

Greg Monroe

, C+

12 Points | 5-13 FG | 2-4 FT | 9 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |

Nene and Gortat are not necessarily renowned for their defensive prowess, but they did a great job of denying the ball to Greg Monroe, and Moose struggled as a result. As Marques Johnson remarked in the commentary, one problem with Monroe coming off the bench longer term is likely going to be his instinct to make an impression in a hurry once he is introduced. Monroe has been pressing in the early stages after his introduction in both games, and as a result he missed a number of shots he normally makes with ease.

Jerryd Bayless, C

7 Points | 3-10 FG | 0-0 FT | 8 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

The one thing I will say is that Bayless’ knack for rebounding considering his size is pretty incredible. On the other hand, his playmaking can leave a lot to be desired and on a night when his shot doesn’t really fall that can be a problem. Bayless relationship with pace, and managing that as a point guard, is a strange one which generally moves in the opposite direction to the rest of his team.

Rashad Vaughn
Rashad Vaughn /

, B

8 Points | 2-4 FG | 3-3 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Vaughn keeps shooting and he keeps making a high percentage. For this month, Vaughn is at 47 percent from the field and 42 percent from deep. Vaughn is getting more significant bursts of minutes as a result, and in this case, he posted the game high plus/minus of +16. Keep improving, Rashad.
