Other Possibilities

Adreian Payne is the other name mentioned by Broussard as a player that the Timberwolves are actively shopping, yet he has never lived up to his stretch four/solid rebounding NBA potential, so the Bucks would unlikely be interested in him as anything other than salary filler.

If a bigger deal was on the table between the two teams there are other players who Milwaukee could try to work into the discussions though.

Shabazz Muhammad is a talented wing who hasn’t got the opportunities he deserves in Minnesota, and the reality is that although the T-Wolves value him, he has only started 13 games in three seasons. The Bucks don’t have an open starting lineup spot for him, but he’s a nice young player who would certainly be the leading figure of the Bucks bench.

A much trickier get for the Bucks, but perhaps their ideal template for a center to match with this core is Gorgui Dieng. At times Dieng has seen limited in Minnesota, but has recently found himself playing a bigger role alongside Karl-Anthony Towns. The time to prise Dieng away from Minnesota may have passed, but he’s an excellent defensive center who it would at least be worth asking about in any negotiation.
