14. Wade Baldwin – Point Guard (Vanderbilt)

Words by Jordan Treske

Baldwin’s 2015-16 season: 14.5 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 4.8 APG, 1.3 SPG, 0.3 BPG, 46.7% FG

Possibly the biggest riser during this year’s draft process, Baldwin has a tremendous ability to shoot the ball as he’s shooting 48 percent from the field and an impressive 47 percent from three-point range.  Whether it’s a pull up jumper or off the ball shot, Baldwin’s dead-eye shooting ability will be welcomed by any team in this draft.

Baldwin’s physical profile might be the most impressive for any point guard that enters this year’s class. Standing at 6’3″ and with an enormous wingspan that’s unofficially measured at 6’10”, Baldwin has the potential to grow as an athlete considering the physical frame he has.

However, if Baldwin wants to be an NBA point guard, he must improve his ball handling. While Baldwin’s a reliable playmaker (he’s dishing out 4.6 assists per game), he’s averaging a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio this season and he must refine that once he gets to the NBA level.

Another area Baldwin could make a big stride is on the defensive end. Baldwin’s already a solid defender as he’s posting 1.3 steals per game this year but with the physical tools he has, he could become a disrupter for any guard he matches up against.
