13. Skal Labissiere – Power Forward (Kentucky)
Words by Adam McGee
Labissiere’s 2015-16 season: 6.9 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 0.2 APG, 0.3 SPG, 1.6 BPG, 50.7% FG
Labissiere is shaping up to be a real gamble towards the top half of this year’s draft, and you can almost be sure that there will be multiple teams prepared to take that risk on.
Labissiere arrived at Kentucky as one of the top recruits in the country, yet it all hasn’t gone to plan for him since that point. The native of Haiti has seen his minutes tumble throughout the year, as he’s struggled with foul trouble, rebounding and generally making any real impact.
What that doesn’t change is that he has great shot blocking potential, a nice shooting stroke and is unafraid of having the ball in his hands. As a legitimate 7’0″ big man they are still skills that will draw a lot of attention from NBA front offices.
The Wildcat is just about to turn 20, and with time to bulk up and maybe work on his strength and conditioning with NBA trainers there’s still a chance he could be a diamond in the rough.
