Reactions: The Good

  • That was a hell of a third quarter. The Bucks got seven from Middleton, six from Parker, and five from Giannis as the Bucks thoroughly outplayed the Hornets en route to an eight point advantage. The quarter started as anonymously as any other. That is, until Miles Plumlee threw down a pair of put-back dunks. Those plays seemed to ignite the Bucks and triggered their surge. That surge eventually led to this huge Giannis dunk. At that point I would have bet the farm the Bucks would have sealed the win, but, you know, Bucks.
  • The leash has been lengthened on Parker and Vaughn. Parker took open jumpers with confidence, going so far as the cross over Frank Kaminsky and drain a step-back 18 footer. That’s the sort of play that has Bucks fans frothing at the mouth. And is the sort of shot Parker should become more accustomed to taking with regularity. Meanwhile, Vaughn took a total of nine shots (which must be a career high).
  • Because Giannis highlights are fun highlights.
  • When things got tight late in the fourth quarter the Bucks (predictably) and (somewhat rightly) looked to Khris Middleton for answers. He scored 10 points in the fourth quarter on 3-7 shooting while keeping the Bucks alive seemingly single-handedly. And why not? Middleton is the sort of player that can make this shot look easy.
