Reactions: The Bad

  • Khris Middleton was the only one carrying the Bucks earlier in the season, but it feels like all that work has given Khash a sore back. Middleton was one of the least effective Bucks on Saturday, making just four of his 16 shots. The constant double-teams Atlanta threw at him certainly didn’t help, but Middleton needs to know to dish the rock to a teammate on fire (Jabari, in this case) instead of taking a shot if a good look isn’t there.
  • Although the Bucks didn’t have much trouble scoring the ball against the Hawks, they did that without almost any contributions from beyond the arc. Middleton made one of his six attempts from beyond the arc and O.J. Mayo was two-for-five from deep. That was the extent of Milwaukee’s made threes. Giannis missed one, Rashad Vaughn missed two, and MCW missed three.
  • I’m officially asking for a JOB search party. Where is he?! O’Bryant finally proved he deserves a spot in the rotation, just in time to lose it. If he’s really out for the rest of the season that’s a big mistake by the coaching staff.
  • FREE THROWS! They’re called free for a reason, Bucks! Milwaukee kept getting to the foul line with hardly any time left in regulation, but thanks to a plethora of missed free throws the Hawks were able to send the game into overtime. Twice! Shooting under 70 percent from the charity stripe is inexcusable. That’s literally giving up free points.
