Reactions: The Good

  • The bad news is Giannis Antetokoumpo didn’t extend his triple-double streak to two games. The good news is that he got close to the mark with a 14 point (6-12 FG) seven rebound, eight assist (a game-high), three block performance. The Bucks strategy lately has been to put the ball in Giannis’ hands as often as possible, letting him initiate the offense and provide better looks for himself and teammates. His future looks like it’s going to take the form of an all-around play-maker. Not just that of a scorer and defender. That should lead to seeing more plays like this where he starts the offense and calls his own number leading to plays like this one.
  • I could get used to seeing Jabari Parker as the Bucks leading scorer. For the second time in three games he led the Bucks in scoring, this time going for 22 on 8-16 shooting. He hauled in his fewest rebounds, six, in his last five games. However, seeing as he’s averaging just over five rebounds on the season, six should be considered a decent number. The Celtics had no answer for him in the fourth quarter as he scored 10 points on 4-6 shooting in the final period.
  • Giannis and Jabari have both played well as of late. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the Own The Future duo connect for a highlight play. Like this one near the end of the first half.
  • One game after shooting 15-25 from the line and two after shooting 22-32 in Atlanta the Bucks shot a respectable 19-25 from the line in Boston. No player missed more than one free throw, save for Giannis who uncharacteristically went 2-5 from the charity stripe.
  • I like Jabari Parker highlights. You should too.
