Milwaukee Bucks Player of the Week Rankings
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
2. Khris Middleton
3. Greg Monroe

The Greek Freak lived up to his name this week. He played in all three games and averaged 36.8 minutes, 16.3 points (52.5 percent shooting), 10.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 2.3 blocks. He led the Bucks in rebounds, assists, and blocks, was tied for second in steals, and third in points.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was in a class of his own this week. No other player in the NBA averaged at least 16 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 2 blocks over their last three games. His stat line was impressive and seeing how it put him in a class of his own makes it even more impressive.

After being mistakenly rewarded a triple-double earlier in the season, Giannis truly earned his first career triple-double this week. Against the Lakers he put up ridiculous numbers of 27 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals, and 4 blocks. Woof, that is gaudy!

Antetokounmpo put his imprint into every facet of the game for the Bucks this week. He was an offensive catalyst because he scored efficiently and was the lead facilitator.

Additionally, he was a defensive force because he had at least three blocks in two out of three games and averaged over a steal per game.

Finally, he was crowd control. Giannis made insane plays that fired up the home crowd or silenced the opposing crowd.

This was arguably Giannis’ best week of basketball ever. Since head coach Jason Kidd has put Giannis into more of a playmaker role he has responded with some incredible individual performances. His great stats are a sign that Giannis is maturing as a basketball player. He still needs to work on some things but we are currently seeing the best iteration of the Greek Freak. The exciting thing is that he can potentially get better.

Antetokounmpo was fun to watch this week. He worked hard and effected every aspect of the game. At times, he was both the point guard and the center on the floor for the Bucks.

There aren’t many players in the NBA, if any, with his skill set and he put it all on display for us this week. Giannis earned a Milwaukee Bucks player of the week title for his performance this week and it was a fun ride. I will venture to guess that the ride isn’t over yet and I cannot wait to see what he has in store next week and beyond.
