Milwaukee Bucks Player of the Week Rankings
1. ???
2. ???
3. Jabari Parker

The former Duke Blue Devil played in all three games this week and averaged 38.6 minutes, 23.3 points (on 53.4 percent shooting), 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He was second on the Bucks in points, third in steals, and fourth in both rebounds and assists. Additionally, he had the second best plus/minus on the team, +9.3, and the highest three-point and free throw shooting percentages, 66.7 and 100 respectively, on the team.

Jabari Parker was a major contributor this week. He logged a usage rate of 27.1 which was the highest for all Bucks players in the past three games. He had the ball in his hands a lot and looked to score often. He had the most field goal attempts on the Bucks this week with 19.3 per game.

With more time with the ball came more mistakes. Parker has been averaging 1.4 turnovers per game this season but this week that number increased significantly to 4.3 turnovers per game. All this means to me is that Jabari is still young and he is going to make mistakes. It isn’t surprising that his first high usage week resulted in him coughing the ball up too much.

Beyond the turnovers there was not much to critique from Jabari. Hell, he even hit a pair of threes this week. Those two made threes were his first of the season. Jabari only attempted three shots from downtown too, which earned him the best three point percentage of the week.

He also shot perfectly from the free throw line. He attempted six free throws over the course of the week and nailed all of them. Add in his field goal percentage of 53.4 and this was one efficient scoring week from the second year player.

In the first game of the week against Houston, Parker reminded all of us why he was a second overall draft pick. He scored a career high 36 points and did so in a variety of ways.

Oh he can dunk too!

Parker even got into the action on defense. He averaged two steals per game and the second lowest defensive rating, 104.9, on the team for players who played in all three games. Jabari does not control the game on the defensive end but he can be a useful defender. This week he was at worst an average defender on the court. That is nothing to be ashamed of.

Parker was third in the player of the week rankings because he scored a lot, shot efficiently, played solid defense, and had the best dunk of the week.
