Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

O.J. Mayo

, F

0 Points | 0-3 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK |

While young players like Giannis and Jabari are surging, Mayo seems like he’s already checked out for the summer. Given his recent stretch of ho-hum play I would have expected the coaching staff to replace him in the starting lineup. The only problem is that there’s not really anyone to replace him with.

Khris Middleton

, C-

18 Points| 6-19 FG | 4-4 FT | 5 REB | 3 AST | 5 STL | 0 BLK |

He overcame a zero point first quarter to finish with a respectable scoring total. Unfortunately it took 19 shots to get there. For as fire as his jumper was against Minnesota, it was that cold against OKC. The Thunder played the anti-Middleton defense perfectly–denying jumpers and forcing teammates to handle the workload.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, A

26 Points | 8-20 FG | 10-11 FT | 12 REB | 10 AST | 3 STL | 4 BLK |

He took a few long range jumpers that he shouldn’t have but other than that he made strong decisions with the basketball–turning it over just twice. He keyed a third quarter surge that brought the Bucks within striking distance. He’s beginning to show a real ability at taking over games.

Jabari Parker

, B+

26 Points | 12-23 FG | 2-3 FT | 5 REB | 4 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK

Jabari Parker was everywhere for the Milwaukee Bucks. That is, he was everywhere for them after a rough start to the first quarter that saw him collect two early fouls spurring an extended stay on the bench. During that stay the Thunder blew the game wide open. He scored 24 points in (essentially) three quarters of action.

Miles Plumlee

, B-

2 Points| 1-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 5 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

He struggled defending Stephen Adams, but had no problem denying Kevin Durant at the rim. Crazy world, isn’t it? He played just 18 minutes and never really had a chance to get it going offensively.
