Reactions: The Bad

  • Though they put up reasonable scoring totals, Giannis and Jabari really struggled. As previously mentioned they only shot 10-25 and committed eleven turnovers between the two of them. Jabari couldn’t find his range from outside, shooting 0-4 from 15 feet or more while Giannis made his only try from outside. In a disconcerting anomaly they both looked tragic in transition as Jabari turned it over a few times on the break and Giannis never broke loose. I’m going to go ahead and say that trend won’t continue Sunday night in Brooklyn.
  • Who the hell is Luke Babbitt? A google search yields that he’s a sixth year forward with a career average of 4.1 points per game. So of course he scored 16 against the Bucks, including 11 in the first half. He also crossed over Jabari Parker during that stretch–and though he biffed the layup my pride still felt the effect.
  • The Bucks were out-rebounded 11-6 on the offensive glass, leading to a 15-6 advantage for the Pelicans in second chance scoring. Were you wondering why this game stayed as close as it did for as long as it did? That stat is a key reason why.
