Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Jerry Bayless

, C

11 Points | 3-9 FG | 4-4 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

Not the greatest night from Bayless. He made his first three-pointer–a corner attempt in the first quarter, but was 0-2 from there on out. He wasn’t effective defending Lowry and was virtually invisible offensively.

Khris Middleton

,

B-

12 Points| 5-10 FG | 2-2 FT | 1 REB | 3 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK |

He never forced his own shot, but rather took what the game gave to him leading to some open looks. He really made an impact defensively where he accumulated three steals. Offensively he demonstrated his underrated passing skills–most notably finding Plumlee on a highlight-reel fast break.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, B+

18 Points | 6-12 FG | 6-11 FT | 12 REB | 9 AST | 0 STL | 3 BLK |

He did his usual Giannis things–creating nightmares for defenders, pushing the tempo in fast break, getting to the rim at will. He was an assist from nothing a fifth triple double, which looks great on paper. He struggled at the free throw line again. At the moment his struggles from the line are purely mental. Let’s hope he can snap out of his FT shooting slump soon.

Jabari Parker

18 Points | 7-16 FG | 3-3 FT | 4 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK

I could go on about his defensive lapses, his trouble to finish over Biyombo, or his -22 +/- but I won’t. Instead I’ll focus on the fact that he made another three-pointer. He had now made one three-pointer in four of the last nine games. He’s no three-point threat, per se, but he IS shooting 37.5% from three in March. I’ll take that.

Greg Monroe
Greg Monroe /

, C+

8 Points| 4-8 FG | 0-1 FT | 9 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Monroe did some of the things that you love seeing from him–attacking the rim in iso and finishing with finesse. He has moves that are atypical of a man of his stature and can get a decent look against virtually any defender. He was barking at Parker for missing a cut in the first half. There’s a fine line between being a leader and a nuisance, and Monroe’s body language of late suggests the latter.
