Reactions: The Good

  • Khris Middleton had a brilliant night against his former team. He scored 27 points in 32 minutes on 11-16 shooting for a +/- of +18. It was his highest scoring game since March 4th (the one where he roasted up the three-pointers) and first 20+ point game since March 9th. He’s been going through somewhat of a scoring drought lately, scoring between 10-20 in each of the last five games (with a 10,12, and 13 point performance) along the way. He’s been shooting efficiently in that span, so it was great to see him unleash his abilities with shot volume.
  • Big to big passing is always something to get the fans riled up. Here’s Henson finding Inglis for his only points (though he also grabbed three rebounds and one assist). What a pass.
  • I was impressed by the play of the starters against a borderline playoff team. The starting five showed balance and skilful execution save for the final minutes of regulation. Plus/minus doesn’t tell the whole story, but the Bucks starters finished the game as follows: Parker +8, Antetokounmpo +8, Monroe +16, Bayless +3, Middleton +18. That’s top to bottom goodness and should give the Bucks confidence in their core heading into next season.
  • Passing is great. It’s a vital part of the game of basketball. So is shooting threes. Here’s the Bucks passing and Jabari shooting threes. (Giannis hit one too!)
