Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Starters

Jerryd Bayless

, F

5 Points | 2-5 FG | 0-2 FT | 3 REB | 6 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Last season Jerryd Bayless was one of the NBA’s top free throw shooters. He finished the season at a robust 88.3%. This year he’s not shooting quite as well, 76.7%, but well enough to hit at least one of those free throws in the final seconds. He makes both the game goes to overtime at worst. He hits one and you can’t allow the three. He misses both and you quite easily lose.

Khris Middleton

, A

27 Points| 11-16 FG | 2-4 FT | 1 REB | 4 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

Every now and then Middleton blows the cover off the rim and performs like the unstoppable force that he can be. More importantly he has the de facto role of being the Bucks go-to guy in late game situations. In the last two minutes he was the only Buck to score.

Giannis Antetokounmpo, A

21 Points | 10-17 FG | 0-0 FT | 12 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 2 BLK |

Slowly but surely Giannis is creeping up on a 20 PER. Watching him play it’s easy to see why. He’s a terror on defense–chasing down Stanley Johnson on the fast break for an emphatic block. Offensively he’s an efficient powerhouse. He even made a three pointer! Outside game notwithstanding there is just nothing defenders can do to slow him down much less stop him.

Jabari Parker

, D-

5 Points | 2-7 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 2 BLK

When Jabari fails to assert himself this sort of stat-line happens. He’s come back down to earth a little bit after rekindling the hype inherent to a #2 overall pick. His five points were his lowest since before the All-Star break, which was also the last time he took less than ten shots.

Greg Monroe
Greg Monroe /

, A-

18 Points| 9-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 10 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 2 BLK |

Monroe was a beast, especially in the first half scoring 14 of his 18 points in the first two quarters on 7-10 shooting. He slowed down a little in the second half, but was a huge reason why the Bucks got up big in the first place.
