Reactions: The Bad

  • As much as the young bench has shown signs of life recently, it’s not long before a reminder comes around of what their level really is. Stupid fouls from Jared Cunningham and on multiple occasions from Tyler Ennis show the lack of polish and poise that exists in that group. It makes it hard to sit the starters for too long in a game that you really want to win.
  • Only seven points from Greg Monroe is poor, if an increasingly familiar showing from the Bucks max contract free agent, but only three rebounds is inexcusable. It’s hard to see how or why Kidd would want to stick with starting him on the final stretch, when the chance of taking a closer look at Henson’s fit is probably the smarter move at this point.
  • By their own incredibly high standards, Middleton and Antetokounmpo struggled. The fact that came against Atlanta, a team with its own set of long-armed defensive stoppers in Kent Bazemore and Thabo Sefolosha is interesting. The Bucks wing duo will need to keep working on their ability to create, regardless of opponent or matchup style.
