Reactions: The Good

  • I’m going to be real with you guys–there’s not a ton of material to be pleased about from this game. I suppose that we can look at the turnover battle (16-10 in the Bucks favor) as a good sign, especially since the Bucks are fielding such a young roster at the moment.
  • Giannis continues to impress. Aside from the highlight reel dunks that are gradually turning him into a superstar, we’ve seen a key area of progress that can’t be understated–three point shooting. I know what the pundits say: “Giannis will never be a great three point shooter” blah blah blah. But he doesn’t need to be great at threes, does he? No–he just needs to keep defenses honest. More games like the 2-4 from deep effort he had against the Cavs will go a long way in establishing a different reputation for the young guy. Until then, good luck stopping this.
  • I feel like I’ve jilted a folk-hero by waiting this long to sing his praises, but here you have it–Johnny O’Bryant was awesome. He was dunking. He was scrambling. He was Johnny O’Bryanting (yes, he’s now a verb). The second-year big fella tied a career high 12 points, while chasing down seven rebounds (his second highest total of the season)–but who cares about rebounds…we have dunks to share.
