2016 Season Wrap-Up
This was a really challenging season for the Milwaukee Bucks. They expected to be a playoff team but instead they started their offseason a little early. Despite the season not being successful in the win column it was successful for player development.
Jabari Parker came back from his ACL injury and looked very good, Khris Middleton developed into a solid passer while maintaining his other positive attributes, and Giannis Antetokounmpo turned into the scariest thing in the world with a basketball in his hands. The Bucks have a really young and interesting ‘Big Three’ and the entire NBA has definitely noticed.
Milwaukee is in prime position to become a playoff team next season and become a championship contender in the next two to three seasons if they can support their Big Three with the appropriate ancillary pieces.
Additionally, because the Bucks struggled this season they will have a lottery pick this year. That pick is unlikely going to be in the top three but there is a chance. Even if it is not a top three pick it will be high enough where the Bucks should be able to get a solid player out of it. Adding one more good, young player to the mix might just be what gets the Bucks over the top in close playoff series a few years down the road.
There are many questions this offseason, specifically regarding Greg Monroe and Michael Carter-Williams. Regardless of the decisions Milwaukee makes, if they can make future oriented moves to ensure they will keep Giannis, Jabari, and Khris together then things will work out.
