2nd Overall Pick

Odds of Bucks landing in this spot: 2.12%

I’m not wholly convinced that the Bucks would keep the second overall pick if they were to make this jump, but what a great problem that would be to have to worry about.

The overall outcome for draft night would likely depend on who lands ahead of Milwaukee and who they ultimately choose. Simmons skill-set would certainly be tougher to mesh into Milwaukee’s current plans than Ingram’s would be.

Perhaps even more important though would be the number of teams potentially left on the outside desperate for a shot at finding any kind of star. This mightn’t be the strongest draft class the league has ever seen, but nonetheless, there are multiple teams relying on it with bated breath.

Those who miss out thanks to Milwaukee’s jump would have no shortage of assets that they’d be prepared to bundle for the right to pick second, even beyond that in the league, teams preparing to rebuild could be willing to offer the Bucks a package with more immediate appeal too. Options are always good, and the second pick would give Milwaukee no shortage of them.
