Solomon Hill

Having just finished his third full season in the NBA, a quick look at Solomon Hill’s career stats isn’t going to leave you feeling overwhelmed. In truth, Hill hasn’t really had a chance to show his full capabilities in the NBA yet.

In spite of that, there have been brief glimpses where you can see what his game is all about. Hill is a good perimeter defender, a strong driver and a talented athlete, who also has spells when he shoots the lights out from deep.

One notable example of things clicking for Hill across the board came in Indiana’s first round series with the Toronto Raptors. Having only averaged 14.7 minutes per game in the regular season, Hill saw his minutes jump to 28.3 per game in the postseason.

His playoff three-point percentage of 57.3 isn’t likely to be sustainable, but at least there is now evidence that it’s something he is capable of. Hill hasn’t really done enough to convince anybody of exactly who he is just yet, but in many ways that makes him the type of free agent worth going after.

If the Bucks believe in the glimpses of what Hill has shown so far, it makes a lot more sense to go after a player like him rather than to try and overpay for a guy who just happens to be a little further down the road. Hill makes out to be a low risk/high reward option this summer.
