Milwaukee Bucks: Considering Free Agent Shooters
Jerryd Bayless
Even though he missed a good chunk of games due to some nagging injuries, Jerryd Bayless improved his three-point shooting tremendously compared to years past. In addition to some solid shooting, Bayless can play point guard when they want to play Antetokounmpo elsewhere..
Despite a lower career three-point shooting percentage at just 36.5 percent, he shot an impressive 43.7 percent from beyond the arc in 2015-16. While his free throw percentage was a little down at 77.8 percent compared to 82.5 percent for his career, he did average 10.4 ppg mostly off the bench with the Bucks last season.
Michael Carter-Williams is much younger and has incredible length on defense the Bucks would like to take advantage of, but he’s already proven to be somewhat injury-prone in a year and a half with the Bucks and his outside shooting is mediocre in a league that requires it to be better than that.
The fact that he got his three-point shooting percentage up over 40 percent this past season is hopefully a sign of continued success from outside the paint. In a league that is getting away from the traditional big man play down low, it is necessary the Bucks try to keep a shooter they already have alongside Middleton.
