Fit

I wouldn’t describe Teletovic’s fit as perfect for the Bucks, but it’s certainly a very good one.

Milwaukee was desperate for improved shooting, and adding that specifically at the power forward position could really open the floor up for them.

As the game is in full flow, the addition of Teletovic will add far greater fluidity to Milwaukee’s rotation than they had any real option of last year.

The team’s power forward rotation behind Jabari Parker was comprised of only ineffectual floor spacing (Chris Copeland due to lack of ability, and Steve Novak due to injury misfortune) and high energy, but hapless play around the rim (the loveable, but layup challenged Johnny O’Bryant).

With Teletovic the Bucks now have a real option that can allow them to change their shape depending on the matchup. A lineup with Teletovic at the four and Khris Middleton at the two would create the kind of wide open space for either Jabari or Giannis at the small forward spot that they simply didn’t have the luxury of experiencing last year.

Teletovic’s defense is obviously a downside to his fit considering just how bad Milwaukee was on that end too, but with the bulk of his minutes going to come off the bench as a part of the second unit, rim protectors like John Henson and Miles Plumlee (if he re-signs) should negate some of those concerns.
