Final Grade

Having just completed probably his best season to date in his NBA career, Teletovic has proven that he has a lot left to offer in the NBA.

He’s a good rotation player, his personality is measured and in keeping with most of the rest of the roster, and even if he doesn’t fill all of Milwaukee’s roster needs, he certainly ticks the boxes for veteran experience and shooting, which were two of the biggest heading into the summer.

In a landscape that sees Luol Deng‘s aching body signed to a four-year, $72 million contract, Teletovic’s deal rewards a solid role player and is also very team-friendly. If he contributes effectively, he’ll be seen as a bargain, and even if it somehow all went horribly wrong, he’s on a deal that wouldn’t be particularly difficult to trade.

There’s no two ways about it, this is a good signing for the Bucks. If the simplest way of gauging the moves made by NBA teams in free agency is, does the addition of Player X make this team better than they were prior to the subtraction of Player Y, the answer in Teletovic’s case is a resounding yes.

With the options that he provides them, Teletovic makes the Bucks better. He’s not a go-to guy, the Bucks have those already, but he’s the kind of role player that was desperately missing.

It’s hard not to look forward to seeing how the Bucks will slot Teletovic into the rotation, and just what kind of impact he can have. Bring on next season.
