Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Bench

Julyan Stone, C+

8 Points | 2-8 FG | 3-4 FT | 2 REB | 4 AST | 4 STL | 1 BLK |

Came in and made an instant impact at the end of the first quarter, looking every bit the savvy veteran that you’d expect a player with three years NBA experience to be in this setting. Shooting wasn’t anywhere near as efficient as he’d probably have liked it to be, but Stone deserves credit for strong defensive effort that earned him four steals.

Ra’Shad James, B

14 Points | 6-13 FG | 1-2 FT | 5 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Another player who impressed almost the second he took to the court, it’s not too difficult to understand why James has been so popular among close observers of the D-League in the past two years. Knocked down two of his four three-point attempts with relative confidence, showed flashes of his outstanding athleticism and provided the kind of scoring punch that helped get his team over the line. If there’s one concern moving forward it would probably be that his determination to seize his own opportunity may not always lend itself to doing what’s best for his teammates, but after a good first game he deserves praise.

Prince Ibeh, C

2 Points | 1-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |

Provided a nice spark in his disappointingly low eight minutes of floor time. Ibeh is the kind of high energy, defensive center that the Bucks could possibly do with on the main roster. Although he got to show more of the strong rebounding that was an ever-present in his time as a Texas Longhorn, it would be nice if he could get a little bit more burn in the upcoming games.

Le’Bryan Nash, C

3 Points| 1-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |

Only five minutes of play was once again a little disappointing, but even in that small cameo, Nash impressed. His game has a certain polish to it, and the former Oklahoma State Cowboy looked engaged and dangerous in his small burst of playing time. Another player who we’ll hopefully get to see more from in the coming days.

Devin Williams, C-

0 Points| 0-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK |

Only two minutes of play for Devin Williams but he managed to pack plenty of activity into that time. Williams was perhaps too involved in his short time on the court, with a couple of sloppy turnovers probably the biggest takeaway from his first game.
