Reactions: The Bad

  • Thon Maker impressed across the floor, but one of his biggest perceived weaknesses prior to the draft finally came to light on the court in the closing minutes of this game against the D-League Select. In spite of a remarkable rebounding night, Maker gave up a big offensive rebound with the game on the line. With the D-League Select having missed a free throw with the game still in the balance, Maker got outmuscled and pushed out of position before ultimately giving up a game-clinching and-one. The potential is certainly all there, but Maker will need to get a lot stronger if he wants to play major minutes in the coming seasons.
  • The Bucks were outstanding on the boards and had some great individual displays, but they lost the game due to a colossal free throw differential. Milwaukee made 13 trips to the free throw line as opposed to the D-League Select’s 39 (!!!) free throw attempts. Giving away that many freebies was always going to make it close to impossible to come out on top.
