Milwaukee Bucks Summer League Grades: 91-86 Loss To D-League Select
By Adam McGee
Milwaukee Bucks Grades: Bench
Julyan Stone, C
3 Points | 1-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 3 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK |
Stone played somewhat of a supporting role on this occasion, even though he logged more than 20 minutes on the night. He did it pretty well too. Although ideally he would chip in a little more with scoring or playmaking, Stone has contributed across the floor when he’s been on the court in the two games so far.
Ra’Shad James, B-
14 Points | 5-13 FG | 3-4 FT | 4 REB | 3 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
I hinted at this in the grades after the first game, but James certainly has no fear of putting up shots. That’s not necessarily the worst as the Bucks probably need a bit of help in that department, but when his shot (particularly from distance) isn’t quite as efficient as usual it starts to hurt more than it helps.
Le’Bryan Nash, C+
4 Points| 2-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK |
Once again Nash’s play was restricted to little more than a cameo, even if it was hard to fault what he did in that limited time. He may have played just under six minutes total, but Nash knocked down both of his field goals (including a buzzer beating jumper) and crashed the boards. Would be nice to see more of him.
Devin Williams, D
0 Points| 0-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Devin Williams logged another 10 minutes on Sunday and yet he remains scoreless for the Summer League Bucks. Although he grabbed a few rebounds, this was far from an impressive performance. It’s a good job it takes 10 fouls to foul out at Summer League, as Williams’ seven had him well on his way to that mark.
Steve Sir, C-
0 Points | 0-0 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK |
Sir finally got to see the court, even if it was only for 44 seconds at the end of a quarter, and unfortunately he didn’t get an opportunity to show off his much lauded shooting stroke. The Canadian’s only contribution was a turnover on an inbounds pass with his first touch, but hopefully we’ll get a chance to see some more of what he can do.
