Greg Monroe
On Khris Middletonās absence:
"āThat was very tough, obviously. Heās a big part of what weāre trying to do here and as a friend you never want to see anyone in that position. But you know, he is someone who Iām pretty close with and I know how much he loves to play and compete. When thatās take away from somebody like that, I know itās tough."
On how the team can cope without Middleton:
"āItās next man up. Itās something that you donāt want, obviously, but itās something that happens in this league. Thatās why thereās 15 of us and, you know, some people might be asked to do more. Some who might not have been asked to do stuff might have to do more also. So Iām pretty sure weāre going to adjust some things, but Iām pretty sure weāll figure it out together."
On potentially playing in a two big lineup alongside Plumlee or Henson:
"āI mean, I donāt have any problem playing with either one of them. Iāve played both positions throughout my career, so whatever the rotation may be, or whatever they decide to do, Iāll just make sure to be ready to play my part.ā"
On Jason Kidd hinting he could be a part of the second unit:
"āThatās news to me, but itās not the first time. Itās like I always say, itās about once Iām on the court. You know, thatās all I focus on. If you have a question about the rotation, youāll have to ask him [coach Kidd], but when my number is called I just try to be ready.ā"
