MKG – Hornets MVP?

Adam: From the outside, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist‘s health seems pivotal to any chance the Hornets have of a successful season. Would that be a fair assessment?

Andrew: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s return to the lineup is enormous. It might be the only thing that can make up for the departures of Lin, Lee, and Big Al.

MKG brings offensive rebounding, a funky driving game, and his usual relentless defense. The Hornets net rating has been much better the last two seasons with him on the court. It’s a cliche, but he’s a guy that helps you win.

To have a winning season he’s going to have to be healthy and productive. Without him their depth takes a hit and this time they won’t be able to make up for it.
